Absolutely great stuff there MODE!

Some higher resolution versions would be a wonderful addition, if I run them through a photo editor and play with them I can almost make out some of the finer print. If you don't have sufficient server space, feel free to email them to me at haxixe@gmail.com and I can then post links to them.

I was looking at the Ferrari 049 data, calculating valve area to bore area, and intake to exhaust valve area ratios. Are my numbers off?

Total bore area is approx. 7235 mm^2
Total int. valve area is approx. 2563 mm^2
Total exh. valve area is approx. 1710 mm^2
Total valve area is approx. 4272mm^2
Total exh. valve area is about 40% of total valve area

Total valve area to bore area is about 59%

Isn't this a little low? I mean just looking at 4V racing heads, the bore area LOOKS much filled up with valve area (at least a lot more than 60%) . Is this optical illusion?

[MODE: Sorry for the delay. I just emailed you the engine pictures as promised.]

MODE do you know from where come these plan? who is "ingénieurs de course" (this mention is on all the drawing)? Is it an internal mention for PGP or add after the end of PGP?

Auction in Paris at the death of the team. Ingenieurs de course could mean "for the race team". Don't know if it was added.

58 or 59% is consistant with the racing 4-valve engines I have info on. Can't get more than that without going to kidney bean shaped valves :drunk:

now there's an interesting idea. have you heard of anyone trying it? could get awfully messy if the valves spun themselves around even a little bit :)

Hello, it's a long time ;) I put the original drawings of the PROST AP04 to download, not for free, these are very high resolution copies. I have also Packs of Photos for iconic cars, MATRA MS120, FERRARI F2004..... That's here, thanks :

Well, that's probably why no-one tried it. If your valves don't spin then they stop working rather quickly. Hmm, I wonder if they'd last one or two races ?
