Do you remember in the second indy film the little guy had blocks of wood tired to his feet?

Sorry first thing I thought when I saw this photo... He quite short isn't he!

I had to look at that photo for almost 5 minutes before I saw either Button or Sato.

I have never understood why some people like to make an issue over a person's height.

I think a person should be measured by their character and ability and not their height.

For the record I'm 6'- 2" and I don't feel that I am any more of a man than you just because I may be taller.

oh guys, it's not necessarily the height but the blocks of wood themselves: they're just like what short round had strapped to his feet when he was driving the getaway vehicle in shanghai at the start of temple of doom. OT, but i can't imagine a storyline where a middle-aged bachelor travels through asia with a pre-teen orphan would get too far into development these days...

Just to make it clear...

I have nothing against Sato or his height or anyone else's for that matter. I think he is very professional and level headed even to consider accepting to do it. Like Rene said that takes some guts!

It wasn't a Joke on Sato per say, just the blocks of wood and my immediate thought of the Indy film.

Bira - sorry, point taken.

Sorry if I've offended anyone

Sorry, maybe it's a bit of an over reaction on my part but when I saw that picture of Sato having to stand on blocks in order to project a phoney perception of his height I guess it struck a nerve with me.

If I was Sato I would of told them to shove the blocks up their arse. Either photograph me as I am or not at all. I guess I dislike phoney marketing and people.

Its almost always the guys who don't have the height that make such a big deal of it. Well, they would be alot happier if they understood what comes with the height....and heaven forbid size too.

I'm 6'7" tall and have been over 5'3" since I was 5 years old and this is what it has brung me.....
Being the first guy targeted if a bar fight breaks out. Ceiling fans are my enemy. Department stores hang things that hurt from the ceiling. Car makers have no consideration for me. There is absolutely no way I was ever going to drive in F1. I am too tall to work on an attack submarine. And, I was always above the "too tall" height for playing in the playroom at Mcdonalds and Chuck E Cheese pizza

So see.......its all the same in the end ;) ;)

But you can boast amongst your girl/friends that you have a 10 inch weiner and they wouldn't laugh at you.

It sucks being 5'10 and having a 10 inch wiener because no one believes you unless you show them.
