World Sportscar Championship (and IMSA) points system?

What exactly was the points system used by the World Sportscar Championship? Another intriguing question, from that vein, is how races sanctioned by both WSC and IMSA (i.e. Mosport and Daytona and Road America 1981) would have been scored - would the WSC drivers also score IMSA points, assuming vice versa? For that matter, what was IMSA's point system?

In 1988 the points depended on the length of the race. The supersprints (Jarama, Brno, Sandown Park) were scored as in previous years, for the 1000 km races (and Jerez 800) the points were multiplied by 2, and for Le Mans the points were multiplied by 3. According to my source the Tampa World Challenge wasn't a round of the Championship?!?
In 1989 same points for all rounds (20 for the winner as before), in 1990 a change to the 9-6-4-3-2-1 system, but only for one year as in 1991 it was back to 20 points for the winner.
A look at the points table in l'Année Automobile 83/84 shows that in 1983 the same system was in force as in 1985, with 2 bonus points for C Junior teams in the top ten, and 4 bonus points for Group B teams classified in the first ten.

That clears up a lot, thanks!

One thing I'm curious about, was the pre-Group C "Endurance Driver's Championship" and how that factored into the system; in 1981, for instance, Bob Garretson won the title, despite flipping at Sebring and only winning at Daytona as far as I know, while the Andial Meister team of Grohs/Stommelen, who won more races, weren't even in the top 5. What was the points system for that?
(Of course, that doesn't even scratch the surface as to the whole IMSA/WSC joint sanctioning deal, which seemed to disappear after 1981, that is until I found out about the Tampa World Challenge which appears to be a exhibition event.)
