Apparently the memorial was re-dedicated by Jim Clark's sisters last weekend, before the Thoroughbred GP race, which was for the re-instated Jim Clark Memorial Trophy.

I was at the (rather unfortunately named) Jim Clark Revival meeting at Hockenheim weekend, but was unable to attend the re-dedication of the memorial. Apparently, it was quite a touching little ceremony, attended by both Jim's sisters and Bob Dance. The memorial is now located a short didtence from the paddock.

Can anybody comment on the people attending. I recognize his sisters and Bob Dance. Anyother famous racing people?

I'm glad to see that the memorial is being maintained and his memory respected.

A more appropriate name for the Hockenheim meeting would be "Jim Clark Tribute". The races were broadly in keeping with JC's era, and although I don't speak German, I could tell that the commentators were often referring to details of his career.

I hadn't been to Hockenheim before, and was pleasantly surprised - the place has definite atmosphere, and the "new" circuit was popular with the drivers. A nice touch next year would be a competant historic pedaller to demonstrate a Lotus 25 or 33 at racing speeds (suitably attired, of course).

Thankfully it looks like they also moved Bert Hawthorne's memorial although I do not remember the memorial at the crash site looking like the one in the photo:

no neiother. The last time I visited in 2002, the two memorials were next to each other with some small-ish trees amongst them. Take a look : http://www.users.glo...orial/index.htm

I have to be in Scotland this summer and my dad told me that there's a Jim Clark museum there. Has anyone been?

The Jim Clark Room is at 44 Newtonstreet, Duns (in the borders) Scotland.
01361 884114. ( it was in 1998)
It is a room full of trophies, photo's and some models.
A must for Jim's fans
Jimmy Clark was buried in Chirnside, 4 miles away on the A6105 east , where he lived at the Edington Mains farm and where his local school was...

I have been.

It is a very quiet and reverent place.

Lots of trophies and photos but no car when I was there (at least 10 years ago!)

The elderly gentleman at the door took great pleasure in showing me the Guest Book signed by Ayrton Senna, who made a point of visiting when he was in Edinburgh, addressing the boys at Jim's school. Ayrton rose hugely in my estimation from that day on....

My wife and I had a nice talk with a lady that worked at the Jim Clark room, when we were there 1 1/2 years ago.
I told here to get and sell the nice and not too expensive Brumm Lotus 25 model there as a souvenir, and gave her some data where to get the models.
I hope to go back there one day to revisit the place again.
Most scottsman I met there were very pleasant, low profile, very nice people..
I enjoyed my visit!
