Hi guys, I'm a new fan of car racing thanks to some mates of mine, I had the opportunity of going to the Malaysia GP this year and it was awesome, I'm going to be in Canada during the GP but will only be able to go on Sunday race day, the tickets on sale are as follows for just the Sunday, I need your advice as to which would be the best seat to take, a lot of them don't indicate the section so it's hard to determine which one is best, maybe you can help, I would prefer GS 11 but I'm not sure if the seat being offered will be blocked by the trees or not??

Grandstand 11, senna curve, row H
Gandstand 11, senna curve (turn 1), row DD
Gandstand 24, hairpin, row QQ
Gandstand 24, hairpin, row SS
Grandstand 1 Gold, pits/start-finish/garages, row G (high) - expensive though
Gandstand 15, hairpin, no row indicated

Thanks for your help!!!

I think the gold seats are the worst - from the value angle and the spectator angle. Stay away. Both stands 11 and 24 are good value and I don't think there's anything too different among those seats.

Enjoy!

The hairpin at the east end is good (stand 24 in your question), as is the Senna curve (stand 11), or rather the corner leading in to the Senna curve. The chicane before the start/finish straight is good too, but there's no view worth having from the stands.

ok it's down to gs24 or gs11, i'm taking the risk of having the trees blocking me in gs11 cause I dont know what section i'll get seats in, what would you go for gs24 rows QQ/SS or gs11 turn 1 or senna curve? (thanks for ur advice ur a legend! if ur at the Montreal GP will definately buy u lunch :stoned: )

Shamz, I don't want to confuse the issue, but the high section numbers in section 12 are really good too & we prefer them to the hairpin. You get to see all of Senna in 12 without the trees in the high sections of 11. Good luck

My tickets in Sec12 show numbers for the row, not letters as in the past.. Try to get sec5 & row number 35 or higher... Let me know how you make out & maybe we can get together for lunch in back of Sec12.... There's some grass under shady trees there...

There's not too much to choose from as far as row choice, although the very first few should maybe be avoided. 12 is an excellent stand, but I didn't mention it because it wasn't on your initial list.

I go to Montreal every year (this will be my 17th visit) and I've been in every stand available. Any of those mentioned are excellent, 15 is a little far from the action since they moved the hairpin. Bronze 33 and 34 are great value, too.

I've settled on 24 for the last few years.

GS 24, Section 3, Row SS, Seats 1 & 2

watya think??

btw, u guys r sooooo cool i love this forum, ur help is making my dilemma so much less daunting, i hope we do get a chance to meet up at the race

Either seat would be good.

24 will give you a good look at red hot brake discs and some passing attempts. It will also save quite a bit of time getting on and off the island.

11 will give you a long look at the cars, plus the opportunity to see the podium celebration if you can run fast enough!

I'm in section 1 of stand 24. Call out for Uffen!

Shamz, I'd do GS 11 sec 4. The trees won't be an issue in that section.

Both are good. Long walk off the island from 12, though.

Shamz, Sec 6 is the best in GS 12 & your row is very good. We're in sec 5 of GS 12. Lets meet for lunch on Sat. at 12:00 at the entrance to your seats at ground level.
