yesterday at work i saw Vic Router the guy who has the 30 minutes show before the race on sunday. i marshalled for RACE Inc. i don't know if you remember but they had a contest during the season, you had to get some password to be in a draw.

During lunch i saw that there where people from TSN at the track, and i saw Vic. so i went to talk to him about the Post-Qualifying interviews, that we never get to see. well he told me that he wasn't the person that i should complain to but he said that he would pass it on to the producers of the show. if the post interviews don't air tomorrow i'm going to e-mail TSN complaining that i want to see the post-qualifying interviews. you can also help me by e-mailing TSN at audiencerelations@tsn.ca or motorsports@tsn.ca

f1sl - On behalf of the rest of us Canadians, thanks for at least trying to get the post qualif interviews! Hell, sometimes they skip the post RACE interviews because "The Wide World of Bowling" is coming up and we couldn't miss 5 minutes of that!!???!!

GIVE F1 TO SPORTSNET!!!

In defense to the much maligned TSN. Can anyone remember CBC's coverage of f1 in the late 80's and early 90's. They used to broadcast an edited 1 and half hour version of the race, 5 hours after actual running. Then they relegated it to 11:30 Sunday night. No qualifying, no post race interviews, a couple of clips of the podium, that was it. TSN still manages to bring us the scintillating (if exasperating) play by play of Murray Walker, and the steady Martin Brundle, for ever keeping Murray on the racing line, or at least not too far off in gravel. They could do more, post qulifying interviews (i mean what other sports events are there at 8 a.m. Saturday morning), some more in depth background stuff, i'd Love to see coverage of F3000 races, but it's live, and it's been a whole lot worse.

Seems like Sports Desk has higher priority then the post qualifying press conference. Give me a break!!! Good thing that I have 3 channels to choose from on Race day.

Yes I watch F1 on TSN and do enjoy Murray and his gaff's. However, I'd still like to have the option of watching Speedvision's coverage, which is blocked.
Instead they run this ancient F1 documentary on safety etc. This thing has to be from 1983, since it talks about Pironis accident. It's not that I object to it per se, but it's about the hundredth time they have run it.
If they're doing that just to make me mad that I can't see their F1 coverage, it's working.

well they haven't aired the post-qualifying interviews today, so i guess i'll be writting TSN some letters. i was also thinking, if i sent letters to the sponsors of the show would it help?? i don't know but i'm going to do it any ways. so i'll be sending e-mails or faxes to Air Canada and Suzuki then.

TSN fricken runs that goddamned annoying Sportsdesk (arrogant hosts who think there funny with there stupid cracks on sports they know nothing about) from like 1 am to 7am non stop repeats and then they interupt the damn post race interviews for it? So stupid. They got off to such a great start and then all of a sudden, no split screen during commercials, no post race interviews, no John Watson along with Donaldson before the race, what the hell happened!?! And can Air Canada not make another commercial? That same stupid commercial with the flight attendants has been running for 3 years straight. And Speedvision used to show the post qualifying interviews in Canada (it would come on just as TSN went off the air) but I guess tight assed TSN said if they don't show em, no one can.

TSN's coverage of the races has steadily gone downhill. This is the second race in a row where they experienced "technical difficulties" (thankfull for only a short while).

p.s. Is...anyone...else...getting...tired...of...Vic...Rauter's...Captain..Kirk...style...of...speech?

Maudit how I miss RDS... Shoulda never moved to T.O.

Well, now we can hear more that we want to know about Bruny Surin's 100m in 10.06 from Sat.

OH, BTW, if you haven't notice, TSN will be showing the USGP tape delayed at 15h00EDT in Sept. Just when you think they might get better at it...

Unforgivable, ditching the post race press conference for that idiotic Sports Desk. I take back my previous defense of them. This is there email address, send them a message, tell them to let Speedvision handle Formula 1 if they're so damn uninterested in the whole thing

JayWay, here a copy of the email I sent to TSN. I also called them. I hope you and other TSN viewers will do the same.

Dear Sirs:

Your F1 coverage started off very well this season, with split screens for commercials, post-qualiying interviews, and so on.

Now however, having dropped the above features, you seem to be dropping the post race interviews as well. Your coverage is beginning to fall behind where it was last year.

I also notice that your commercial breaks are beginning to exceed those of ITV, risking the loss of the important post-commercial replays which are part of the pact with race fans, who are willing to sit through breaks in return for a guarantee that important events during the commercial will be replayed.

I must also stress the importance of the post-race interviews. Unlike other sports, where all of the events during the contest are visible and obvious, quite often there is important additional information which only comes out during the post-race interviews which helps us fans understand what we just saw. For example in today's race, Ferrari's performance was unaccountably lower than it should have been, and this may have been explained in the post-race interviews.

I hope that these dificiencies can be corrected, and that there is not a trend occuring in your otherwise-excellent coverage that is going to see a further degredation in the pleasure I receive from my viewing of Formula 1 Racing.

Yours Truly,Blah,Blah

Which bring me to my next point. I think we should also put pressure on Rogers to offer RDS on their regular cable package. I know it is available in areas like Ottawa or New Brunswick, so why should we (Toronto area) not? (post interview are shown integrally, they translate later) We'd also get many more habs games in the winter...

Thank you Williams, for helping me prove my point to TSN. i've aslo just found out what TSN stand for, The **** Network. i sent an e-mail to TSN this morning and i'm also going to fax them tomorrow. i'll also try to get e-mails for Honda, Air Canada, and Suzuki the shows sponsors, so that they also try to aply pressure to TSN on airing the post interviews
