Useful tips Full Monty, I have been doing a whole nurburg warm up lap, only to go off on my flying lap later, what a long haul.

The challenge ends next weekend.

I haven't bettered your time yet, your in the spotlight. "Your either giving pressure, or taking it."

Thanx a bunch guys.

I upgraded a lot of the other cars but I wasnt aware of the upgrades to follow this weekend.

I recently upgraded the corvette to 815BHP & its so hard to drive especially through the corners where stability really takes a beating.

You can drive the nurburg ring for weeks, but one corner you over do or under do, and you lose seconds sometimes, it's a tough tough challenge, may the gods be with you on your hotlaps.

NEW RECORD TIME BY ME:

8:39.361

Using ABS only.

As I started the hotlap after I got this time, pressure off, driving for fun, I was 1.3 seconds faster I believe already just in the first sector alone! Totally committed, but that lap was ruined later.

Challenge is far from over, Full Monty.

A second separates us over a 8 minute track.

It's so hard when your fast for the first half of the track, knowing a slip now ruins everything, this track is relentless, if I got the ideal lap, I know there's more time there, but the ideal lap at the nurburgring hardly ever happens :D

8:36.092 =)

Posted Thursday night, (my time)
I had to try soo many times to beat my own ghost time let alone your time Sean..But when I finally did I found 3.5 seconds...I had to stay with my ghost to the mid lap mark, where i knew I could better my previous effort as I had made a couple of mistakes.

This lap was as quick as I could go, not a single tire on the grass and close to the limit. I had to tune the car quite a bit to get it feeling perfect over the whole lap.

Well done, I know where I can go faster, but to pull off the whole lap is a remarkable sense of accomplishment.

I remember being 1.5 seconds up in the first sector alone once. The gauntlet you've laid down is my biggest challenge yet.

8:33.729 NEW RECORD, I JUST COULDN'T COME 2ND WITH MY FAVORITE CAR ON A HISTORIC TRACK

Very much on the limit, I thing I just went off the road and caught it once, as I carried some speed through near the end, was touch and go, to be 2.3 seconds faster then your time, and 5 seconds faster then my previous best.   Time puts me 663rd on xbox live with this car in class A, even though f355 challenge is the car to have, beaten most of the other people on my friends list with 355s, so pretty proud!!

You wanna call a end to it, or can you reply, let me know..

Is the Challenge still Open?

I had already selected a new challenge as I thought it was done and dusted.

Challenge closes this Sunday, as we seem to have reached the times that only mere mortals can reach with this car and this track.

I pretty much left this challenge as long as it had legs etc, only us two have sustained it in the last weeks, no one else is near our times, so it's up to you if you wanna continue til sunday, if not, I'll win this challenge, but I'll choose a new car, as good as the 512tr has been good to me, just to give everyone a new car to try out.

I'd prefer a new track cos this one is so long that I spend more time getting one lap in without a mistake by which time Im totally sick of the track.

2 weeks, we did the one week thing before, and it failed, primarily because someone could be away for a few days, then just one or two nights to work a time, 2 weeks is more realistic.

Upgrade it first, otherwise your wasting time, so do what you need to in the career mode to get money.

Driving the stock version means bascially driving a whole different type of performance car, you'll be breaking earlier, less engine power, longer gear shift time etc.

Hm. Is there only 1 NY track?
I also don't have the car so have had to use the stock version, however my time is a tad quicker than Deepaks. Quite a big tad.

There's new york and new york 2.

New York 1 is the one were doing, and its longer then new york 2.

Buy the car first, then do the challenge!

We'l extend this challenge for another 2 weeks say, haven't heard from full monty yet, plus you haven't even got the car yet.

I haven't posted on here for a while so thought I better try and make more of an effort. My time on this is so far a 2.07.044. Not too bad but I do lose quite a bit of time at one of the sections. I'm in the top few thousands but a lot of the top times all use the Enzo which is much faster in a straight line. I just don't think it brakes or turns very well!!

My attention is on getting a xbox 360 and PGR3, and I'm working right now to get money for that, but been busy working etc, so I can't gurantee my time in this thread,I played the ferrari 512tr to death, this game is still a brilliant simulator until forza 2 comes out on 360, but I do miss the fun of xbox live, so I'll be playing pgr3 alot when I get 360. Plus me studies, so time is precious.

They got the ferrari testarossa in PGR3! in class E, alongside it's rival in the 80s, the lambo countach, some serious fun to be had!!

The 355 is also in class E and its, in my opinion, the best car in the group. I haven't used all the cars yet but I will give it a go once I get my 360 back and do a proper comparrison between the 355 and the testarossa. :)

I've seen the stats, and I know the testarossa isn't better then the 355, it's a older car, but for me it doesn't matter, I just like driving it, but if they ever included the updated testarossa models called 512TR as seen in Forza, and the car we mostly played in this thread, or the F 512M, the last version of the testarossa, more power, I wish they include those models in PGR4 or Forza 2, I just bloody adore these testarossa cars.

I will be fighting the car even though it's underpowered! When get pgr3 and xbox 360, I'll be creating tracks where acceleration doesn't matter too much, rather more then handeling and high speed cornering , help the testarossa out a bit, by keeping the speed in corners and less stopping. :smoking:

Well fair play to you. Unfotunately you can't force people to use certain cars (which would be good) so you will have to rely on people not being greedy and just going for the fastest cars.

Hopefully there will be some decent cars when they release the downloads (probably at a price of 400 - 800 MS points, about £3.50 - £7.00)

When you get one let me know and I will join you for some games. I'm sure Deroo will join too when he gets his 360. :)
