If anyone is interested in high quality, detailed pictures of various bits and pieces of cars, I highly suggest you head on over to the A-A Gallery.

Preach it Stonefeld!

Thats the best of them. I had roughly 100 photos of those 4 cars, and chose the 35 best/unique. The rest are duplicates from minor angle changes. Nothing is fundamentally missing from the selection.

I find it interesting that Toyota seem to have all their gearbox electronics exposed to the airflow, while alomst every of the top teams have the gear box in max-aero mode. (just look at Ferrari and Renaults as an example).

I think you'll find that most teams mount the ECU on top of the gearbox. Toyota may be looking to get the weight lower by mounting it off to the side.

In Martin Brundle's piece on Saturday before qualifying he talked about the cooling of the cars. The ECU of last seasons Jag was located in the left sidepod. Of course things change year from year.

Still is. However the injector and ignition drivers are all mounted on top of bellhousing just behind the airbox.
Another datalogging computer sits in the right sidepod.

I noticed on Atlas mainpage, that there are some close-up pictures of Mclaren.

What is the resolution of pictures there? I am interested in modeling F1 cars, Mclaren MP4/20 is my last project (Picture1 Picture2 Picture3 - still beta renderings).
After formula-one.net was closed (and all torrents sites with hi-res pictures gone  ) I was left without quality pictures.
So I am considering registering to A-A.

Which year did Atlas start its own gallery? Were they always so close-up?
