De Klerk was of course in his Alfa Special, not any Brabham-ClimaxOriginally posted by Rob29

Also, those look like the Heat 2 results.
The first three on aggregate were the same, then de Klerk and Tingle (who were given the same time) and Dennis Guscott (Lotus-Climax)

No, I'm sure the Hawkins and Prophet Brabhams both ran twincam Lotus-Ford engines
And, while I'm at it, did I mean 109E for the bigger-block pushrod Ford?

According to Cowdrey's "Half Ton Formula", Dawie Gous Porsche was a RSK, not RS.
What kind of race car was Henri Le Roux' Elfin? A sports car?
(Another Henri Le Roux, a French chemist, invented the aspirin!)
And, yes, it would be nice if axlex can show us more about South African races 1965. Had the South Africans an upper limit of 3000cc, a year before the rest of the world?

Maybe not a full year.Did their season follow their summer,as in Aus & NZ rather than the calendar year? The Rand GP in late '65 was certainly to the new formula.Originally posted by Stefan Ornerdal

John Love was running his 2.7 Cooper from at least March 1965

Henri le Roux drove an 'Elfin Mallala Ford". See attached picture taken by Dale Gordon. It shows le Roux on the left shortly after the start of the sports car race, which was held at the same meeting. He raced the same car in the Cape South Easter Trophy race.
Bob Olthoff (Willment Cobra) is on the right.

Excellent to see you here on TNF. Actually you're late! We've needed you on many occasions over the last six years.
Hope you enjoy it here and find it a useful research tool.
