These are my rubbish photos taken at Silverstone in 1980.
IIRC in the first one he was being interviewed by Columbian TV.

Yep, that bloke is Bill! He was in some form of management capacity for both Roberto and Ricardo Londono-Bridge.Originally posted by dolomite

Nice chap, who I didn't see from 1983/4 until the early nineties when I bumped into him at Thruxton. By then he was looking after Roberto's cousin (or 'similar'!) plus the Columbian cycling team, who - IIRC - got into some trouble with the authorities not long afterwards...

I had the pleasure of meeting a very fit and very pleasant Roberto yesterday at a Volvo function here in Scottsdale, Arizona. He now lived in California. He plays a lot tennis and does a lot of gym work. He has been doing some off-road racing, i.e. Baja 1000. Of all the race drivers I have ever met he had the best manners and the best demeanor of any of them. I would be even so bold to match his characteristics to any human being I have ever met.
We had a great talk about his career. He seemed particularly proud of being Senna's teammate at the Macau F3 race where he qualified 2nd to Senna and that they finished that way in the race.
He also had a lot of nice things to say about Jo Marquart. Roberto's parents helped the Marquarts adopt two little Columbian girls.
We also talked about his father who a cyclist in the 1948 Olympics for Argentina and later Argentina's Olympic cycling coach. His father married a lovelt Columbia woman and that is why they moved to Columbia.
