Qualifying: Saturday 8 October 2325-0045 (ITV1)
Live race: Sunday 9 October 0520-0805 (ITV1)
I'm pissed off once again with ITV as they're not showing qualifying live - what the f*** is on at 5.30am that they can't move...especially annoying considering that they now have 3 channels to play with!
In order to enjoy it, I not only now have to avoid anything that is likely to announce the results (TV & radio news bulletins and my mum!) but I also have to stay up to 12.45 tomorrow night then get up after a measly 5hrs sleep to watch the freakin race.
...oh yeah, similar situation for the Chinese race as well...good thinking mister ITV programme scheduler you dopey ****ing prick!!

I'm fairly sure I've always watched it on UTV as opposed to idiot central RTE.

Are you sure? I remember getting up early on saturday to watch qualify, mind it might of been a few years ago!!
ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 - it must have to do with the contract with bernie, cus if they could show the f1 on any of their channels (all the time), they would stick it on ITV3 and get rid of it completely, I mean all the old dears on sunday would love an old movie instead, and we know ITV prefer that audience, take last year and the US gp, wasn't it Cilla and blind date we got the pleasure of watching instead ?

I'm guessing that next year they may switch the repeats and occasional moves to ITV2 onto ITV4 the result of the next stage of metamorphosis for men and motors ITV3 is looking to become the female equivalent to ITV4.
The mystery is why ITV Nightscreen is so important as to not be taken off the schedule and replaced with F1.
Also wasn't the Brazil qualifying on ITV2? or was I watching a repeat?

Even so, that didn't seem to be a problem between 98 and 02 when Suzuka qualifying was shown live IIRC. Same goes for Malaysia/China qualifying - before 03 that (where applicable) was shown live too.
The thing that gets me is that when qualifying for the Far East races has not been shown live, it's always been shown in the usual Saturday lunchtime slot.... Even last year ITV showed a short 5-10 min report from Suzuka before showing a repeat of an old Murray Walker programme. I'm not surprised that qualifying wasn't shown live, but to show it almost a day later does not make any sense.

What response have I had
NOTHING!
That's how much interest they have. I could have coped with it not being shown live - but not being shown until near midnight when the race is on a few hours later is ridiculous. How do they expect us to avoid all news, websites, radio, sports programmes, current affairs programs, kids tv (believe it or not F1 has been mentioned on both Dick and Dom and MOM in the past!)
1pm, 11am - ITV2, ITV3 - anything would have been better than what they are "offering" us

I'm fairly sure that Malaysia qual has never been shown live for the very reason about GMTV. But why ITV can't just show qual live on ITV2 or ITV3 is just baffeling.
Especially considering that all they show on ITV3 is constant repeats of La Law. Sure I like Jimmy Smits acting ability but it really is turning into a joke.

Mika and Michael qualifying 2000, that was live, who could forget that qualifying session.
Maybe because it was a championship showdown race.
