Chris Mason's 'Uphill Racers' has couple of pics on p297.
I'm not able to scan it for reference for you right now - but others may have have this, or more accessible references.

Look at that understeer!
I remember the car well, it was fantastic to look at, but not amazingly succesful IMSC.
Does any one have any data on the relative contact patch size of this car Vs a contempory F1 car?
Would the fact that that contact patch was in tandem rather than across the car make the car understeer badly?

Huw, that may not be understeer. If, for example, the picture was taken at Prescott you need to turn in that sharply to get round Pardon or Ettores (if the cross-over course is use). Perhaps Stephen W will tell us where the picture was taken :)

Not to detract from your very interesting question about tyre contact patches.

Well Charles, it looks remarkably like PARDON HAIRPIN at Prescott. The date is 06/05/79 if memory serves. Lane was second in the run-off behind Peter Kaye in Pilbeam MP31/1 which was also fitted with a DFV.

Steve - whilst I wouldn't dream of arguing, how did the photographer get a slightly downwards looking picture at the inside of Pardon?

Whilst slightly off thread, does anybody remember Goodyear trailing a 6 wheel March around shows in the early 80's? I seem to recall it appearing at a local school fete or similar in Wolverhampton? They allowed people to sit in it and have pics taken for 50p for charity.

TC - that's an easy one. By standing on the inside of the corner with a wide angle lens OR by standing up by the marshal's post on the exit with a 300mm telephoto lens.
