hey, is there a good game out that lets you drive GT40s, classic Ferrari's & Porsches etc?

not interested in a "need for speed" type game, more of a simulator

ps it's for PC not xbox/playstation

thx!

GT Legends should have the GT40 if my memory serves me correctly...

Its a blast game to drive anyway, so even if it doesn't contain the GT40 i can reccomend it ;)

Yeah, GT Legends has the GT40 indeed. It Also has a Porsche 906, Ferrari 275GTB, BMW CSL, Capri RS, Escort RS, Pantera; to name but a few. The game is a total blast :)

How does GTL compare to say GPL and F1C? And what are PC specs for that one?

Thanx in advance. :)

wolf:
I would say it compares to gpl '69 rather more than the original GPL... The cars are easier to drive fast, but still very difficult to drive very fast. I think the "feel" is really good, but i don't like that the game has a career mode, where you will have to win to get money and unlock cars/tracks. I don't spend that much time with the game, so i haven't really unlocked that much yet, and thats a drawback i feel.

Still, from the cars i've driven, i really just love the Alfa i bought early on... very exploitable, high reving with a wonderfull noise, and easygoing handling :)

As for computerpower needed, my amd XP2400+, 1gig ram, Nvidia GF 6600GT, sb audigy value and logitech wheel setup is just on the weak side. Think it is the cpu that is the weakest point, as changing the GFX settings doesn't really boost framerate that much, so i guess its the CPU that can't handle the physics+ai and keeping the gfx and soundcard busy at the same time. I could be wrong here though, as i'm not really that much of an expert :p

Knut - pretty much right on there about the specs required.

As for unlocking all the cars, well just head on over to BHM and grab the cheat from the forums - you have to be logged in to see the files. Chuck it in your GTL directory then create a new user and you'll have everything available.

Awesome fun online in this game. Very close stuff.

Might also be well worth to check out the Classic Sports and GT Mod for F1C. Haven't tried it myself but hear a lot of praise.

GT Legends!!!

It's an amazing sim. The graphics is big step forward from GTR. Great lighting effects and dynamic daytime changes. The cars feel different. A must have!

The only issue I had on the beginning is the carrer mod. But I get used to it, and actually enjoyed going through the ranks from smaller cars to real GT beasts... My advice if you impatient or don't that much time to play - like in my case: Go through carrer mod challenges on lower difficulty level. You can still turn all the aids off, so driving is fun, skip qualifying and go through few cars grid on short races. AI is not fast on lower diff levels so can you will easily win, collect cash buy new cars.

Then you go to FIA championship Modes, go back to highest difficulty level and have fun.

On the last point: In GT Legends you can drift and slide with those cars. Not the fastests way around but boy... girls like that a lot... :smoking: :smoking: :smoking:
