All y'all:

I recently got this note and wonder if anyone has an idea as to where I can steer Ton for some info? I unfortunately have come up short using my resources.

Thanks!

Don

For 3 years I own a motorcycle of which I am 99% sure it competed in several Grand-Prix's. It is a 1952 Pike-BSA, Framenumber RHP4 .350cc. RHP stand for Roland Hames Pike the constructor of the machine. Roland Pike was a well-known road racer between 1936 and 1953. After his race career he joined the BSA factory where he became head of the development department. He also was responsible for the machines that brought BSA the succes at Daytona in 1954.( 5 BSA's within the first 6 finishers) I think my machine competed in the Isle of Man TT in 1952 (rider:Roland Pike himself)
and in 1954 the GP's of France (Reims), Belgium (Spa), Holland (Assen),UK (Isle of Man), Northern Ireland (Ulster), and Germany( Solitude). In all the 1954 GP's the rider was Dennis Lashmar who sadly lost his life during the German GP mentioned. (25 July 1954).
The bike recognised as the authentic machine has the engine number my bike had in 1952 as I can prove, because the 1952 registrationbook is still present. At this moment I have no enginenumber at all.The other bike has a meaningless framenumber(a normal BSA framenumber of that period) You'll understand that I am very anxious to sort this out, and I wondered if you could point me to someone who knows some more of this matter. I enquired several sources in the UK but it seems like running against a brick wall.
I hope you will find the time to reply,
Many thanks already!!!!
