Second question his co-driver at Spa was a certain Lewis, any info about him ?

I can add a little re. John Gordon.
There was a good interview with him in Thoroughbred & Classic Cars in August 1984.

His full name was John Stapleton Gordon, born in Rochdale, Lancashire in 1918.
After the war he was in the motor trade, and raced a Maserati in partnership with Lance Macklin, plus his Astura, seen in this snapshot taken at Goodwood.
I think it is unlikely he was ever an American citizen.
He died in Salisbury, Wiltshire in 1993.

Gordon, J.S.' (USA) 1960, 1962 sharing an OSCA with J. Bentley (USA) on both occasions, 750cc in 1960 and a 1.6 litre in 1962

i am the john gordon to whom you refer, i was active in the period 1958-1967 with an osca chassis nr. 769 and with a zink mk.3 sports racer. the zink was built with a 1600 cosworth mk.3 power unit & now has an 850 osca in it.There was also an American John Gordon, an SCCA racer who participated in long-distance racing in the early sixties with an Osca [Sebring, Le Mans].
