1969 Alfa GTA in Zandvoort ETCC; 1970 Porsche 911 and Koepchen BMW 2002 in Germany. Then some drives in the awesome AMG Mercedes and the Porsche years. Later he drove for AMG the Mercedes 450 SLC in some ETCC events.
Freigherr Josef von Kerkerinck drove an Abarth 1000 TCR in Germany in 1971.
But.
There's a Belgian Van Kerkerinck who raced an Alfa Romeo 1300 GT; he drove in some races in 1968, including Spa. I think that's the one Schickentanz shared his car with.
I have no other enntries for Dutsi.

Interesting, the Alfa Romeo 1300 GTJ was entered by Koepchen. Initial drivers were not Schickentanz / Dutsi / Von Kerckerinck, but Von Kerckerinck / Michael Kranefuss, who drove the car in the 6 H of Nurburgring 2 weeks before.

I just stumbled over the discussion "Schickendanz" and saw my name mentioned. After all those years, that is really interesting.
Now to the facts: I did drive an Abarth 1000 for a couple of years. First I was given one by IGFA and Gunni Lehmann, who sponsored young drivers who showed some talent. Then I drove a 1300 Alfa Romeo from Herbert Schulze in Berlin and in the 3rd year I went back to another Abarth 1000, which I bought myself. It was black with a golden Cross on top, a great car and I wish I would still own it.
I was entered into the 24 hours of Spa by an Alfa dealer called Koepchen from Gemany, together with Schickendanz and another driver who I don't even remember. We won our class and it was a great race for me. I am German but live in the US since 1978, where I bought a ranch and raised deer. Now I sold the ranch and am more interested in Sharks. I go diving with sharks on a regular basis. I have a website: www.sharkprotect.com and give presentations about sharks.
Amazing what life has in store for us. I'm 67 now but still crazy enough to do all those things and sharks don't really do anything to people. Very rarely do they bite someone.
I don't know how many of you will still be looking into this thread of the forum but if somebody does, here is my latest news. My full name is indeed von Kerckerinck zur Borg but I like to shorten it a bit. Take a look at my website and let me know what you think.
All the best,
Jupp Kerckerinck

It says" Clemens Schikentanz, German saloon car ace found himself driving
a new Chevron BMW B21 sponsored by Dahl-Kanal Racing. The engine was the
first customer 2 litre BMW engine to be sold and not in a March chassis.
The reason for this was that the head and injection were Schneitzer
designed, claims around 270bhp for this unit. Anyone can buy this unit
for a modest 3750GBP. The motor being produced being in full agreement of
Jochen Neerspasch who afterall does not really care who wins as long as
it's a BMW. The head, also 4 valve, bears the Schneitzer one-piece rocker cover
while the injection trumpets are mounted on the left inside of the right
of the engine to suit the easier fitment into German cars apparently."
The car finished 9th in the Interserie race at N'ring - the Norschleifer
ring.
Looks like an interesting car, however not listed in the Chevron book, as
there is only one B21 with BMW engine listed for Dieter Quester's factory
engined car. It was bought & driven by May1974 by the next owner Gorg Moritz
Clemens raced Porsche 911 before & after this in and around 1971.
I am trying to find out as much as I can as i would like to paint the car as it was in 1971. I know he raced for Dahl Kanal - probably in Blue.
Any help & especially colour pictures would be much appreciated.

When you next want to add a pic to your post, please create a lower resolution version first and then upload it to your preferred hosting site. Around 650 pixels width is ideal.
