Does any one out there know what became of the Mildren "Yellow Submarine", which when I saw it some 35+ years ago at the Macau GP had Waggott engine, but originally was powered by a V8 Alfa Romeo engine.

The last I have in my notes for the Sub was when it was sold late 1976 to Greg Ferrall (Adelaide) (RCN Jan 1977 p9). Can anyone fill in any of the last 29 years?

Thanks

Allen

Frank Gardner in the 'conning tower' which gave the car its name...

I wonder if that's old Hope at the back wheel?

Sorry, I couldn't find a 'Mildren' thread so I've posted this link here.

Oh to be 20 years younger and have deeper pockets.

Is Gosford going a bit pear-shaped? They seem to be off-loading quite a bit lately, or is it just normal turnover?

Someone told me recently that it is in the Chas Kelly collection in Port Sorell, Tas. Not sure if that is correct, does anyone here have more info?

James Lambert would know if it is...

What a chequered, yet illustrious, career this car has had.

As far as I know the BT11 had been owned by Mike Ryves for many years. He had it for sale for along time also, with obviously no takers. Then it was aquired by the Gosford Museum. I believe everything in the museum has a price tag. You just have to enquire.

Dale.

You're right, Dale...

It's the ex-Paul Moxham Brabham Alfa alongside the Lotus at Chas Kelly's.

Is that Alec Mildren pushing in middle at the back?

Couple of shots of the "Yellow Submarine" from the Symmons Gold Star round 1969. It was amazing to see our local cars with the big wings attached and Leo did lead KB for the first few laps in a good battle,1340-_H-_Bart-69-lo.jpg1345-_H-_Bart-69-lo.jpg

but once Kevin passed him it became a procession with quite big gaps down the field. Good win for him though.

Actually no, Terry...

Someone with a career dating back beyond Alec's, but they did overlap by a few years. He's Frank's uncle.

By the name of Hope Bartlett.

For the record, the personnel are:

RF - Frank Gardner
LF - Glenn Abbey
LR - Bob Grange
RR - Stuart Randall

Who are all the pushers? FG, Hope Bartlett as Ray says, Stu Randall, Glen Abbey- who is @ left rear? And is the Maser engine on carbs or injected?

The pushers are listed in the post above yours, Mark...

This is a BT11a as modified to fit a V12 Maserati 2.5 engine, intended for the 1966 Tasman Cup series.

I see in a November 2007 ad that Ryves wanted 250k for the BT11.

No wonder it never sold.
