Consider the time differenceOriginally posted by F1Fanatic.co.uk
Interesting that the Grand Prix story was dated 31st. I'm wondering if someone put an April Fool's day press release about and some people fell for it?

Possibly - but I remember reading the story before qualifying.

Yeah, considering the rough life he has, you know getting to meet all the drivers up close and personal, going to great parties, travelling the world. No one I know would want his job.;)

Does sound like something Stoddart would do though.;)

Motorsport News are reproting it as fact, although I agree it sounds pretty unlikely.Originally posted by Ross Stonefeld

But then, so does the whole Super Aguri saga - particularly Taku showing Rubens the way around Albert Park. Real Boy's Own comic stuff!

I actually bought that one, too.Originally posted by Ross Stonefeld

Didn't give it too much thought, though...

Exactly. Something to do with a million, billion sperm, and him (or part of him!) being the quickest. Survival of the twattest?Originally posted by GregorV
It certainly is a plausible story, so why not fall for it? It seems James Allen did ... surely noone believes he came up with that one independently and on his own ;)

I would enjoy nothing more than hearing he had been involved in some kind of hideous accident, possibly involving some kind of agricultural machinery.Originally posted by GregorV
I would enjoy nothing more if the story was actually shown to be true in the end ;).

It's really not that unreal that Stoddart would sell SA two Arrow cars, but didn't know where they were. I think the thing that got James was that they were painted in Minardi livery and so he thought they WERE Minardi's.

Super Aguri started the season with a developed version of four-year-old Arrows cars bought from former Minardi owner and Australian aviation entrepreneur Paul Stoddart.
One of them was painted in Minardi colours and on display at Melbourne airport as a show car while another chassis has just been obtained from an owner in the Netherlands.
Hmm, interesting. Was this an April fool joke that got out of hand, or did James Allen say something, try to cover it up when he thought he was wrong as a humerous April fool, then prove to be right all the long...
