Greetings, chaps!
I was Binging images of Guy Moll moments ago when I came across this extraordinary pix. I've got a pretty good idea as to whom the driver is but that car!?!?

Can someone fill in the W5 blanks on this one, svp?
(I posted a link instead of doing an image copy; rights to the image and all that; hope it's viewable.)

hi manfred, since they are all sleeping on the other side of the pond, I'll chime in. carlos reutemann with a '69 ? huayra- ford, probably interlagos. I thought these specials from brazil were really neat. I subscribed to L'automobile magazine from france from '67-'75, still have them, all boxed up ! they covered these races, and had quite detailed articles on these cars.
did you work at the canadian motor sport hall of fame archives at all ? I volunteered there for a while after I retired in 2002.

Hello, Mike!
Thanks for the input. I thought that it might be Lole but wasn't 100% sure.
The car is quite remarkable. I scoped it on Wiki and here's a link...
http://en.wikipedia....a_Pronello_Ford
A serious bit of kit. I was wondering if the generous head room provided for the cockpit was to pass a specific dimensional requirement?
And no, sorry, I've done no work at the CMHF.

Thanks for some good infos on the Fords from then. Unfortunately I have still not learned to post Pictures , but Tony Robinson told me it was not a Fordson. So I am mystified , but he has some contact working on it. I'll be back then
.
The "Maserati" Fordson with spec. build up , I do not know for sure , but my guess would be Mrs. M.E.Hall-Smith for Robin Hanson.I do not find any other suitable combinations.
If you search Fordson "BBE" in Google you might find a cab that looks more like the Maserati Fordson than the Fordson 7V, seems to be a lot of confusion on the net about the vehicle with the recessed headlights being called a Fordson Thames BBE which will be most unhelpful in unraveling the type of Maserati transporter you are trying to identify.
According to our Driver Vehicle Licencing Authority website the Fordson registered BTV 734 was manufactured in 1936 not 1933 as suggested in the link.
Hope that helps

So far as I am aware being an alien 'from' space and being an Aussie are still mutually exclusive categories

A few weeks ago Paul Scully-Power was up the track giving Proffessor Michael Henderson's RT4 a going over.
How cool is that! Australia's first space explorer is indeed also a speed demon.
I couldn't make it but Hendo tells me this was a first for Scully-Power and maybe not the last.

Not only is he a space explorer, he is a pilot and a man of many talents... who hopefully will join us racing in the historic ranks (more likely in the US). Well done Paul for trying something new!

Yes, Paul made is way from Washington DC to try out an '86 RT4 Ralt.
So, Michael, that's not the ex-Brian McLoughlin RT4 that you sold ?

On the BRDC member list I found some names which don’t say anything to me.
Geoffrey Johnson b. 16 April 1935
If you know who these people are and what their role in motor racing is or was, please tell me.
Thank you.
Johnson worked at BRM as an engine designer, as well as at British Leyland, Hesketh, Cosworth and Lotus.

A word of warning, if you are at a party attended by Paul...allow him plenty of room, unexpected, unannounced cart wheels can occur

I hope this is the right spot for this ? can anyone give some information about the Shelby Mustang GT 350 in this photo. it's said to be at brands hatch 1966. someone the Shelby site out of the United States is seeking information on it. http://saacforum.com...p?topic=30336.0 hope the link works.

Well, it's definitely Brands Hatch. But if the date is correct then it's very unlikely to be Chris Craft - in 1966 he was driving Anglias. And I don't recall him ever being associated with a Mustang either.
You can find all the BSCC races from 1966 here: http://touringcarrac.../1966 BSCC.html
My guess - and I stress it's a guess - would be that it's Jackie Oliver in the Motor Show 200. Crowd doesn't look big enough for either the GP or Guards meetings.

Silverstone 1950s...has anyone heard of the "Cambridge Special"..light-ish blue in colour possible Austin 7 based special?
Well Cambridge Engineering of 151 Cambridge Road, Kew Green, Surrey must have been involved with many Austin 7 specials. They offered most of the modified/specialist parts you needed and in 1958 advertised "25 years experience of the Austin 7". Can't remember if they marketed complete specials, but I think I remember a body as well as everything else.

Cambridge Special, Bill Williams, 1950s. Nostalgia indeed.

Thank You Roger...a name for the car...will look into it a little more. Its an image from an 8mm movie which also includes footage of what looks like a FIAT S74 racing (in red livery). I'm arranging for the video to be reversed and when that is done the images may be a little clearer

I am sure that any images of an S74 FIAT racing would be very welcome in many circles.

I'm equally sure you are right, but I am also very conscious of those who inhabit this place purely to gain grist for their mill and (shock horror) to gain commercially from their on-line cherry picking! I will be looking for an appropriate archive to send a copy of the film to.

I think so, but Oliver Heal, Anthony's son who posts on here, would be better placed to say.

In the late 60's, USRRC racer Gerry Bruihl of Portland, Oregon sold bodies for Lotus 23s and the like. Looks like one of those bodies to me. Check the photo of the #41 car at this link:

If the above is true, it must be somebody, not very well known, who started the Italian Grand Prix on Firestone in the years 1966-1968. I don’t know what he looked like, but could it be Geki?
