Hello, :)

Does someone have a picture of Grandstand 11 from the front showing the layout (section/rows) that I can have a look at.

I can get tickets for that stand or GS 12 but would like to know which is the best in GS11. I have read all the threads on this forum back to 2003 and understand about the trees blocking your view if youy are too high up in the GS 11 stand.

However is that also true if you are to the left of the stand when viewing it from the front.

Last year I was in GS 15, 21, and 24 for the FRi Sat and Sunday respectively. These were great stands but I would really like to try GS11 this year.

Thanks to all who reply to this.

Joey :p

I was in GS12 last year, I found that to be very good! You can see the last corner, all pit straight, then the exit of turn 2 up to turn 3. There's some pics on a thread i had going last year "Sith world tour" Hopefully it's not as humid this year!!!

Hi Sith

It seems that you really have a blast at all the GP's  and some really good contacts as well. Thanks for the reply.

Can you remember what section and seat in grandstand 12 you sat last year cause those were some really great pictures that you got.

Thanks

Here is a picture from section 3, row V (3 from the top) seat 11 of GS11 from last year:

Nice picture of GS12 but that's not what you're looking for:

I know I have a a picture of a GS11 from the track. I took it after the race a few years ago but I can't find it. It's either on my site or I need to scan it. I'll have a look.

I'm sitting in GS12 this year. Can't wait.

Thanks Farzad

Its a real hard choice as both stands have really good views. Do you remember what section/row and seat that you took the GS 12 pictures from?

Where in GS12 are you sitting this year?

Thanks for all the help,
Joey

trinifan, so long as you don't go past section 3 or 4 in GS11, the trees shouldn't be a problem. Or so I am told, as I've never sat there before. You can pretty much tell by the pictures as well.

This year, I'm in GS11-3. Actually had the same section last year but couldn't attend. Ended up going to Indy the following week instead

I've sat in 11 and had the trees in my sightline and it really wasn't an issue. Although I've never sat in 12, it looks like the sightlines are better than 11. I'd go with 12 if possible.

The tress really aren't a big deal if you don't go above section 4.

I much prefer the view from GS12. Hands down I think they are the best seats in the house and I've had the pleasure of sitting in almost every grandstand at the circuit except for GS31.

The biggest problem with GS11 is that you can't see the exit of the Senna Curves and many great passing moves finish at the exit of that corner. I found that really frustrating. As you can see from the pictures the view from GS12 gives you everything GS11 gives you and much more.

I don't remember the section I took the picture from in GS12. I think it's section 5 and this year I'm in section 5 at the very top row.

I just figured it out. The picture from GS12 is Section 6 Row 50. There are 6 sections and 60 rows in GS12. The sections for all grandstands are numbered from left to right when you are facing the grandstand. So the picture is taken from just about the top right hand corner of the stand. Like I said I regard them as the best seats in the house.

Here is a panoramic view:

And a larger version:

Hope this helps.

Thanks again Farzad

I am going to try to get my contact to get either GS11 Section 1,2 or 3 or GS12 section 5 or 6.

Great pictures from last year from GS 12.

We were in G12 section 1 last year and found that the white tent over the VIP grandstand completely blocked the view of the main straight and the pit lane.
