I was in a traffic jam and pointed this out to the missus who managed to take a blurry shot....perfect for a TNF Identification!

It's a Bugatti :p

A 37A I think. :) Certainly supercharged, 'cause you can see the blower hole. That cuts it down to 37A, 39A (rare and unlikely) or 35B. Not a 51 or 51A because the blower hole was lower.

Love all the holes in the cross member of the trailer - maybe a song title there.

Its a volkswagen - done 17,000 miles, good history, one owner

The one on the trailer is a four cylinder, one of 67 supercharged between 1926 and 1930.
Not sure whether A suffix refered to it being supercharged or not, if it did, it is 37A.

Those ain't 37A wheels
And the radiator looks more 35B than 37A (though I wouldn't put money on it)

I think you're right Barry, the proportions don't look ,to coin a phrase, pukka. I hit a tree at Oulton, and nothing was done about it, when Hamish Moffat hit it in his 37 they chopped it down!

What is it about it that points to it being a copy?

When I was at LM for the St Saturnin British Welcome two years ago with a Lotus Ellise club, we were sitting under a tree and a red Bugatti arrived in the parking lot. I spotted it was a fake from 200m away! Wheels were obviously wrong and something was fishy about the radiator as in the above picture!

On my way back to Belgium from Monaco this year, I saw two Bugattis being trailered back to Holland on the motorway.
A hour later, I heard a warning on Traffic Info about a hood which flew out from a car and that was on the center lane, they didn't say if it was blue! Where di you spot that Bugatti, Breadmaster ?

It is probably my ropey eyesight these days but the mascots are the same on both the fakes as are the nameplates, I can't really see what the front suspension on the 2nd one is but a lot were built on Spitfire frames. There does not appear to be any camber on the rear end of the 2nd so that it is likely to be something different. But does it really matter? If the owner is happy, that's what it should be about

Have looked up the British Bugatti Register 2000, but it's not listed with that reg. no. but then a number of "new" Bugattis have been created in the last six years!

I would agree, from the BS number, that it's a replica/recreation and that it could be 35B or 37A.

Although 37s were fitted with wire wheels as standard, many were retro-fitted with 35B wheels. My money would be on it being a 37A - the rad looks a little narrow for a 35B.
