I am looking for information on the official BMW e30 racing cars. These are the 3 series from the 80's on which the first M3 was based.

I have seen some pictures in the past of official e30 racing cars but I don't know the years they raced in. Can anyone help me with pictures, technical information or pointers to interesting websites?

BMW never had works E30's; the only E30 cars which came close were the semiworks cars of Linder. Check my site for 1985-86 ETCC results and pictures.

The red car was our 325 sport in the 1986 Willhire 24hrs of Snetterton

the white M3 we did the same race in, in 87 ''88 and '89

Tony Longhurst finished 4th in the 1986 Australian Touring Car Championship in a 325i which utilised some Linder parts. It was for sale in New Zealand recently, but I couldn't find the photo. I did find one of the Linder car though.

There were a lot of BMW 323i in the DTM. Winnie Voigt even won the race with Linder at Mainz-Finthen in 1985. They were used by some teams instead of the big 635 CSi, which was developed by the works.

You can find the DTM-Results from the mid-eighties on www.dtm.de/statistik.php
