Hey guys,

Sorry for the off topic but I believe there's a number of tech heads here that should... be able to explain how this collector with megaphone + reverse cone works:-

I've seen many NA drag cars, particularly Honda running this sort of exhaust setup doing 10s and 9s.

This is what it says on their website:-

Megaphones frequently benefit from the addition of a reverse cone, which tends to extend, and smooth the peak horsepower region of the power curve.

It looks trick. Reminds me of the two stroke's expansion chamber, but I never thought the concept could be applied to 4 strokes.....Any ideas?

Cheers.

Someone is going to figure out how to utilize this "wasted" exhaust energy in a four stroke someday. I guess it likely won't be in F1 due to the unreasonably restrictive nature of the technical regulations. Pity, that.

From another thread in 2000. Wow, You read the future.

That's funny - I was all over the Burns Stainless site last night. Hard to tell if there's just a lot of marketing or some legitimate go-fast stuff there.
