I am looking for images and relative info about the shortlived 4.5 litre V!2 Delage developped in 1937 by A. Lory .
Purposeful, closed streamlined aluminiun body shell was designed by aerodinamist Andreau and built by CarrosserieLabourdette using apparently, his patented“Vutotal” system.
This one-off sport prototype intended for the ACF G.P. of 1937, was exhibited on the Labourdette Stand of the 1937 Paris Show and apparently received two further open bodies later on .

Images and info will help me to built a hand-made 1/10 scale model.

Thanks beforehand for your kind assistance.

Manuel,

If you don't already have it, the book "The French Sports Car Revolution" by Anthony Blight has a couple of good photos of the car and some information regarding its participation in the 1937 French Grand Prix....the general gist is that the car as never really intended to be a top contender in the GP. I quote: "The Delage had been entered, said Louis, to show what a Grand Touring car could do in a 500km Grand Prix: words which were construed in the Bugatti camp as a direct challenge to their leadership in that particular field...." (p. 355)

I would scan and post the images of the car but alas, I have no way to host them online. It truly is a breathtaking vehicle, one that I hadn't seen before... If someone else can host the pics I'd be glad to scan/email them.

Is this the car you are thinking of? If so, Spielwaren Danhausen, in Aachen, Germany, in the "Plumbies" line, made a 1/43rd white metal kit of it about 30 years ago. The shop (which is a general toy and model shop) still exists, but one brother kept the shop, and the other founded Minichamps die-cast models about 15 years ago.

Thank you David,
Will try to find a copy of A. Blight book.
Would love front & side view images to draw the plans of the wooden mock-up

Apparently, the car could not race at the ACF G.P. due to an accident sufered during the trials.
Later on, in 1938, it raced at Brooklands driven by Joseph Paul showing an open 2-seat sport body. It had a serious accident resulting a lady dead and many more spectators injured.
Rebodied once more, it raced some times in minor events after WWII.

Thank you Dottore,
Yes, it is. Pity the image size is so small.
I recall to have seen that model somewhere many years ago. Unfurtunately, a 1/43rd size would be of little use for my prospective project.
Many tks for info re Aachen model shop.

If David has a scanner, he can send them to me as jpeg attachments, and I will post them.

The picture I posted is the only one I have seen in that colour scheme.

As far as I am aware, for most of the time the coupe body with tailfin was on the car, it was a medium French blue with dark French blue pontoon shaped fenders.

I have no interior photos at all, so I can't help you with the dashboard details or interior colour
