Hello again
I'm trying to find some information on American driver Chuck Arnold who competed in F1 (Indy 500) in 1959.
Once again, any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers
Phil

Would Ralph Liguori or Gig (Leonard) Stephens know anything about him? Apparently, both also drove for Hall-Mar, Liguori in '59 and Stephens in '60.

Chuck Arnold was from Stamford, Connecticut and primarily raced Midgets, which he had great success in, winning the 1954 NASCAR Midget championship and winning 14 feature races in USAC Midgets between 1965 and 1971. He finished 11th in USAC Midget points in '66, 7th in '67 and 4th in '68.
He also competed in the USAC Sprint Car series.

Arnold began racing in 1948 and was a midget driver in more ways than one - he stood 5'4"...he celebrated his 33rd birthday by being one of the 33 in the 500 in 1959. Never made it again despite numerous attempts. Bill Fox described him as "promising and popular" before the race in the Indy News, claiming he was a 30-1 outsider (which was a bit stingy oddswise) but stating he was "outstanding" in qualifying in an old car; he matched Jimmy Bryan's 4 lap time to the thousandth of an mph.
