Jean Behra crashed the 300S and as the banks are very high at Dundrod the car fell on its side and as a result most of his ear is spread over a space of about 20 yards of the Dundrod circuit, I'd say.
Cliff Allison told me a lovely story about going to Sebring or somesuch circuit and having to share a room with Jean and being intrigued when he unscrewed his ear and put it on the bedside table !

By coincidence I was watching a programme on French TV today in which Tony Rudd told the story about how when Jean B came to stay at the Rudd household he would remove his ear and wave it in front of the children with the words "made in England" .......

Thank you..........

The story that told me someone who witnessed it. It happened in Caracas in 1955 or 1956. Behra conquistated a local beauty. Alfonso de Portago told the girl that Behra was almost a monster, covered by scars of his multiple accidents........to probe that, unscrewed the Behra´s ear.....................
