Hello; Rikki used to drive for my husband, Morris Nunn and someone ask Morris at dinner the other night what had become of Rikki. The last Morris heard years ago was that Rikki planned to give away his money and become a Buddhist monk. He doesn't know if that actually happened though. Anyone know where he is? Thanks.

According to Richie Jenkins, Rikky von Opel is still working in New York for the family business.

He seems to have gone to Nepal right after retiring according to Alan Henry's Brabham book "where he kept track of his investments in New York by satellite telephone". I guess he got bored there.

(BTW, katrina5, welcome! You can see by my username that Morris had at least one fan...)

Morris Nunn has alot of fans not only here but everywhere racing is discussed. He has to rank as one of the great characters in Grand Prix racing in the last 35 years.

Hey, thanks for all the quick responses. I'll pass this along to Morris. He's going to try to look Rikky up. I'll let you know if he connects. Best regards from sunny Florida. K.

Great to read your story again, Twinny. Wonderful adventure.

Look forward to hearing about von Opel and Mo Nunn.

Good God, somewhere I must have almost exactly the same photograph, snapped on whatever camera I had at the time! Another case of almost a TNF meeting before TNF existed.

I think the foundations of a certain section of TNF must have been dug at Oulton Park in the 70s!

I had contact with Von Opel about 8 years ago. He was then in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Not sure if the address will still be valid...

Unaswered question that has been puzzleing me since the 1970s..

I noticed that Katrina started this thread with Rikki.
Alan's photo shows Rikky on the side of the car.

Anyone confirm which it is.. or maybe they are interchangable?

No, you're correct. It's Rikky; my mistake.

Thanks Katrina.
Even in the 1970s the two seemed be used, depending on which publication you read.

Hi Kathryn,
Good to see you posting here. You'll of course know me, as we exchanged plenty of e-mails recently regarding all my Ensign photos that you kindly helped identify.

Welcome!!

regards
Paul.
