Eddie was to be a dentist but changed his mind and went into banking to which he was sent from his native Eire to the Channel Isles for a short while to work this is where he watched the local hillclimbs and by the time he returned to Eire he was smittern and started to race first in karts then FF1600 the path to fame and glory was halted for a while to repair his broken legs before purchasing a ex Harry Stiller Racing atlantic March and to venture into England and Europe with "Racing for Ireland" banner.
I met Eddie first when he used to visit the Theodore workshops in Brum usually to bother Sid or borrow something then when we both entered cars in the British and European F3,Eddie was already established in F3 by this stage after seasons running David leslie and James Weaver, but he always was so helpful and fun to be around,my former colleage and friend worked next door to EJR for Madgewick and the wild times with the two we all had it is amazing that we managed to do any work at all or indeed survived the eighties! Plus he would always sell me his used Avon and Yokohama tyres very cheaply I would keep and use the best and then make a great profit selling on in small lots etc.I did later buy the ex Blundell RT3 chassis to run in 1984 but this got pilferred and never to be seen again, well not by me!,again Eddie was easy and fair to deal with and I left Silverstone feeling quite happy I remember the day well, Senna and Brundell were in the middle of having thier McLaren test ,Eddie was there to watch over young Martin but we stood on the pit wall together I offered a price ,he laughed told me what I was going to pay him and that was it really.
We saw each other often after F3 I was insrumental in the purchase of his F3000 cars(ex irvine/Frentzen )whilst working at GJ Motorsport and sometime later I telephoned and requested a helmet visor to be duly signed (cannot remember for what reason) this landed on my doorstep by return of post not only with EJ accross it but also Ralph Schu and D.Hill Esq.
Over the years I have met only a few very remarkable people EJ was one of these.
They will be many of you out there with great anecdotes and stories so send them in.
Rodney Dodson.

Very close resemblance, perhaps?Originally posted by Mistron
The BBC news website Coverage of the 'T in the park' music festival at the weekend indicated that a member of the pop beat combo "The Robbers" seen performing on the back of a pick up truck bore a startling resemblance to one E Jordan.....

This is an English joke.Originally posted by HistoryFan
Ehm, this mail adress didn't exist...
To explain: "Syrup" is cockney rhyming slang for a wig. The derivation is that "Syrup of figs" rhymes with "wigs". And the previous threads focussed on whether or not EJ wears a wig.
