Hours of fun can be had searching for motor racing clips on the 'British Pathe' website www.britishpathe.com . Clips are free to download after registration (only the low-res versions) and better quality ones can be purchased. A bit of a pain to download them each time until you get used to it, but it is worth it!

Try these, a couple of decent length silent clips (in colour) of 70s club racing:

In 'search' type in 'Brands Hatch' and go to the last entry on page 3 of Brands clips - Dave Purley winning a Libre race in the F2 Team Harper Chevron. However half of this 18min silent clip is the clearing up of the startline shunt before the second start! There is also another clip of Lanfranchi in the first F5000 run in a libre race.

In 'search' again, type in 'Saloon Car racing' and go to the colour clip of Supersaloons at Thruxton in 1975. A great battle between Mick Hill's Capri and John Turner's fabulous Skoda.

Some marvellous stuff under Snetterton too and tremendous colour footage of the 1969 British GP.

There is also some superb record breaking footage, and two very long features on Goldie Gardner and EX135

I agree completely that the British Pathe site is a wonderful resource; one can spend many an hour accessing historic race footage. I am particularly interested in the Age of the Titans during the late 1930s, and have discovered some very evocative films of Rosemeyer, Nuvolari, Seaman and others in those fabulous Auto Unions and Mercedes. For example, enter "International Grand Prix at Donington" in the Search field for sights and sounds of Tazio Nuvolari's triumph over Lang and Seaman before a crowd of 60,000+ in 1938. Marvelous stuff.

I have found it necessary to try a variety of search titles to find all that British Pathe offers in their archives for a specific area of interest. For example, entering "Auto Union" produced coverage of Bernd Rosemeyer in the A.U. streamliner (and Maj. Goldie Gardner's 1937 MG world record on the same clip!). But a search under "Motor Speed Record" found other clips, like Hans Stuck Sr. racing an Auto Union in 1934.

fyi, British Pathé now has a "Channel" on YouTube: https://www.youtube....r/britishpathe/

Edit to add...they also have a "SportingHistory" channel: https://www.youtube....SportingHistory It's a little easier to spot the racing videos there.
