As I remember this race was televised and there was a photo in Autosport /Motoring News with Ronnie very crossed up in a flurry of snow flakes.

It was of him spinning onto the grass at Becketts. A pic of the incident is on the front cover of The Forgotten Races, with another inside...

Funnily enough I did suggest that to LAT (they own the copyright) a couple of years back...

The photo in question was published in MOTOR SPORT some months (years??) back. I do have the particular copy at home, but I do not think it is worth scanning, since it was spread over two pages...I do not think this is what you really want??!! Photo was in colour.

I found a picture of him spinning off (black and white) on page 82 of MotorSport, Aug. 2003, but I'm sure the one I saw was of him on the track, in colour?

Has Chris Ellard finished 'Long Forgotten Races' (non-championship F1 races between '54-'65) yet? -- wasn't it due in '05?

Ohh, thanks chaps .

So, there aren't any colour ones then?'

I've only ever seen three pictures of Ronnie in that Becketts snowstorm.

The two that Twinny very kindly mentioned were definitely black & white - I've seen the transaparancies. A colour one did, however, appear more recently in MS (as Hieronymus says). If I remember rightly it was attributed to Jerry Booen.

I also have a feeling it was re-produced in the Johnny Tipler book Super Swede

Michael Oliver's lovely "LOTUS 72 Formula One Icon" has a colour picture on the back of the dustcover.

It shows Ronnie, lighting up the rear tyres as he gets back on track.....

Lovely book Michael....One of my better purchaces

Here i go, dredging up another ancient thread.... ....i treasure the memory of seeing Ronnie in the snow at the  '73 International Trophy and reading the above made me determined to track down a copy of this book......

...which I did this week at very reasonable cost via e-bay ( and it turned out to be the slip-cased, signed and numbered edition, too ). What a treat ! It's sure to give me many hours of pleasure, and I've already spent a lot of time just gazing at that wonderful image on the back cover. Great stuff !

Almost.....the full colour pic was taken moments later as Peterson recovered from the spin. It's good to have because people always think I'm kidding when I tell them that I've watched F1 in the snow !
