Hi guys, I'm new here, so be gentle. Do any of you know if the FIA can demand compund changes to the tyres during the season on anything other than safety grounds?

Don't believe there is anything in the rules to stop them.

As long as it's related to safety ....;)

From what I understand, there is no "control tyres" this year, meaning that the compound and construction is not specified by FIA. I would be surprised if they went in and demanded anything from Bridgestone, since that would most likely lead to economical demands from Bridgestone (extra costs etc). I would be even more surprised if Bridgestone did not listen to friendly suggestions from Max.
