I'm sure this new listing will interest a few on TNF, interesting to see what this lot goes for, probably a lot less than most of us would think they're worth.

As it's a 'buy it now/make an offer' listing, it will go for no more than £95! Given the stated condition, I'd say £95 is a pretty fair price for that selection; the only really rare one is 'The John Cobb Story', which could alone quite easily command a price of at least £50 on eBay. But take that one out of the equation and you'd be lucky to get £30 for the other nineteen as a job lot. Although given time, one could probably resell them individually and recoup the £95, thus getting the John Cobb book 'free' ...

For those of you especially who like photos of old aeroplanes check this site out. There are masses of 20s and 30s shots of all sort of planes, especially seaplanes/flying boats as well as lots of stuff too numerous to name, but it looks good to me.
There are also masses of race car shots at Brooklands, Crystal Palace and Donington, including lovely posed shots of Bira and Chula, as well as race shots, plus some of pre WW2 Mercedes at Donington and Crystal Palace, esp good shots of Seaman.
You will also see a wide range of WW1 shots of munitions and equipment, plus people connected, women sorting shell cases for salvage etc very useful for military and social historians. For those who live(d) in S London or North Kent there is an array of shots showing life and places in the 20s and 30s.
They may not be esoteric enough for many of you but for me, as one who likes old quality photos across a broad church, it is a goldmine.
BTW if you scroll the pages down there is a good blown up shot with a caption.
For me the star shot so far is of the Joystick Special on the line at Shelsley. For historians there are some nice posed shots of period lady drivers there too, and for MG fans a series of shots of George Eyston in the streamlined MG.
Hope I have not over sold it, but check it out if you like old planes and cars, and ignore the social history stuff.
Usual disclaimers
Roger Lund

edit
I forgot to mention lots of French, Italian and German planes, plus pictures WW1 shots of men and machinery from France and Belgium.

Thought I'd revive this long-dormant thread. Here are a couple of trophies won by Bob Gerard. I am rather tempted, but does the group collective have an opinion as to the authenticity and value?
