No, it's a former mechanic. I did have his name but can't immediately find it in my emails. I think whoever it was is ex-Ralt.
If I'm not mistaken, Mike's son is autistic.

Yes, that's correct, my earlier post was inaccurate.

Was Penske's approach similar to McLaren under Ron Dennis?
I don't think so. What many people don't know, or have forgotten, is that Roger was a first class driver - not just good, but really good. And to this day he retains an empathy, understanding and feel for what a driver is going through. So although a Penske driver is expected to "put the numbers on the board" (to quote RP) when the time comes, Roger fully understands what the driver needs from the car and his team, and makes sure that it is provided if he possibly can. I am sure in the latter characteristic Ron Dennis had the same approach, but I don't think he could relate to drivers in the way Roger does.

I think you will find that the gentleman in question is a former mechanic of Mike’s from the ralt days. If my memory serves me right I believe his first name was Alan but I might be wrong. Sadly mike’s son is extremely autistic. Hope to catch up with Mike after Easter for a beer

You obviously know him pretty well and I guess for some time. Do you think he'd be receptive to answering some questions from the forum via you ( of course if you're happy to pose them and respond on his behalf ) ?
I'd like to write him too.
