Who do I call for the overhaul - I just need to make sure it won't go bang, not screw that last half horsepower out of it at 11.5k - not yet anyway.
Coming from the vintage world I am a bit lost on who to turn to - ex Holbay people (Coltec I think), Richardson, Rolt, Holt? These and other names crop up on searches but that's no way to choose.

Assuming you are in the UK Connaught Engines near Sittingbourne are also worth talking to as Phil Price understands FJ's, twin cam etc.

I'll follow them both up - as well as Stuart Rolt who I understand bought a lot of Holbay parts after their demise and has an Elfin himself so may take pity on me.

Having said that I am building up my SCA from a incomplete set of parts.
Had to make cam bearing housings, and convert a FJ type jackshaft gear drive. Then from that point run a simplex chain up to the ohc.
Cosworth followed this part gear part chain route when they sold kits to USA for SCCA 1100cc formula. Climax of course used a verly long simplex chain to drive the 1.5 litre GP V8 engines cams, and they ran to 9500rpm reliably.
My next problem is cam buckets. The SCA are large diameter, and not common with DFV or FVA parts as so much of the rest of the engine is.

I agree about Nick, excellent worksmanship and always helpful.

I am keen to see these cars on track. Proper race cars, proper race engines, and at one time all the GP drivers were involved in what were close and tense races.
