Dear Dennis,

do you have more information about the history of car races in Havana Cuba?
I am one of the organizers of a Historic Car Race in Havana in March 2000
(40th aniversary of the Grand Prix in 1960). Some MB 300 SLS and SLR and
three Maseratis will take part.

See page 205 of A Turn At The Wheel by Stirling Moss - two or three paragraphs on the 1960 event. He also mentions the 1958 event and the Fangio kidnapping.
There's more about that 1958 weekend - including details of how he beat Masten Gregory - on pages 83 to 85.

Pages 144-177 of American Racing by Tom Burnside and Denise McCluggage have short articles and great photographs of the 1957 and 1960 events. This is a terrific book of photos of a much neglected and forgotten era of (mostly) North American racing. It should be valuable for anyone recreating the events.
