Uwe, slightly OT, but is Helmut any relation to Porsche pilot Wolf Henzler?

Helmut Henzler is Wolf's uncle.

When a GP drive with Arrows faded there was talk he would run an A2 in the Aurora series if I recall correctly - to keep in with Warsteiner presumably.

Although performing quite well with the A2 at Silverstone he didn't have the necessary budget to get a serious chance. Instead he joined Beppe Gabbiani in the F2 Maurer works team for the 1980 season, but the BMW powered MM80 (pictured) turned out to be a complete disaster.

I'll try to find more info on his A2 test in my old German magazines 'Rallye Racing' and Sport Auto'.

Helmut Henzler won the German Rennsport Trophae in 1981 with a GS BMW M1. He was about 29 then, and in an interview explained that a formula career was no option anymore - the train had left without him. But he was very realistic, saying that a message like that is easier to accept when you're nearly 30 instead of 20.

AFAIK Helmut Henzler even turned 33 in September 1981.

For a contact maybe one should look around in the vicinity of NĂ¼rtingen.
The local telephone directory gives these results.

AFAIK his birthday is 26 September 1948 (with 1950 a possibility).

If someone succeeds in contacting him maybe this person can ask him.
