Having had no response from the 'helmet' thread, I am having one last stab at this one.

I have 2 pictures of Roger Penske in his Lotus 24 in races at the end of 1962. In one I think I can see a stripe (black?) on a white helmet; but in the other, he seems to have a round badge on the front.

Anyone got any better pictures of R.P. from around that time, please?

From Allen Brown's Old Racing Cars.com site there is this picture from 1963:-Posted Image

It is from Allen's page about the Cooper T53 & T53P. I hope he forgives me for posting it on here, 'cos I am not sure what the general picture copyright rules are.

I don't know if this helps you any, Barry as it is in black & white?

The "round badge" is the same as the one Walt Hansgen always had on his helmet -- the RRDC. "Road Racing Driver's Club."

If I recall correctly it was in the shape of a three-spoked steering wheel with a blue field, a white field and a black/white checkered field between the spokes.. www.rrdc.org

Thank you gentlemen.

I shall create some tiny badges as decals to adorn the helmets.
