I really think 4 is Monaco, still.... the last corner/enterpit part up to the straight for start/finish.... it's HARD to see, but you can see a bit going to the right in part 4..... and with about 90 degrees.... it's very dark..... but it's there man, really......;)

hmmmmmmm , I think I have 4 out of 6 right.... [ I hope... ]

excellent post baddog

any way to generate a topographically accurate representation? would make the bends more identifiable. also, are we to assume all the bends are taken in uniform direction, i.e., from left to right, top to bottom?

great stuff either way ...

Hmmm, I'll pick a couple...

3. Turn 13/14, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Canada
6. Eau Rouge, Spa Francochamps, Belgium
4. Swimming Pool, Monaco
5. Castol Kurve, A1 Ring, Austria
2. Senna Hairpin, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Canada (but it looks like it could be in a few other circuits)

well that's about all I can think of. #1 looks recongnisable, I don't know why I can't think of the circuit. I'm going to cheat and copy from a previous poster...

1. Tosa, Autodrommo di Enzo et Dino Ferrari, Imola, Italy, San Marino GP

That Autodrommo thing came to me at the last minute, I hope I'm right.

ok, here's my vote (which, I'll concede, is partly based on replies others have given before - something that was helpful for those I wasn't sure about):

1. Becketts, Silverstone
2. .... (I'm inclined to think Witt is right and it's Mexico's Perlata, but I'm not sure on that one. In any case, it's definitely not Hungaroring, as some suggested.)
3. Clark Chicane, Albert Park
4. Stavelot, Spa-Francorchamps
5. Ste Devote, Monaco
6. .... (the one corner I don't have a clue about! But I know it's NOT Eau Rouge as some suggested, where the curve is to the exact opposite direction!)

By the way, the tricky part was realizing that the angles in which the corners are presented here is not necessarily north up :)

I'm anxiously awaiting to see how wrong/right I am.

Thanks,

Rain

This is quite good, mainly because it could be anything.

1. Tosa at Imola.
2. First corner at the Hungaroring, or the 2nd last corner hairpin at Montreal.
3. Variante Alta at Imola, or the first corner at Melbourne.
4. First two corners (the left 90 degree then the right hand hairpin) at Monreal, or the Rascasse at Monaco.
5. First corner of the A1 Ring.
6. Eau Rouge at Spa, or the second part of the Swimming Pool section at Monaco.

regards,
doohanOK.

Actually Rainstorm, #6 looks much like Eau Rouge depending on your orientation to the direction of racing. If you assume "left to right" according to the picture, then you are correct, but racing in the opposite direction, which baddog may have done, thinking to trick us, it looks like Eau Rouge. Either way, its not intended to be Eau Rouge, but the point is that the direction of racing makes the curve.

on the maps I have, eau rouge has a significantly different profile to number 6... I guess it depends on your map! 6 was always the toughy anyway

Let me be honest, the Clark Chicane looks nothing like you suggested it to be in the answers.

It's a lot different. The problem with a lot of circuit diagrams drawn today (and that's no fault of yours Shaun), is that they are incorrectly shown.

doohanOK.

doohan, its taken from circuit maps (forix I believe for that one) yes, and looking at a few more circuit maps (the official site map) its slightly out on the profile of the exit bend.. but I think close enough to identify the corner anyway. perhaps. someone got it anyway. oh well.

next quiz will be a little more 'accessible'. more than one person should get more than 2 right I think!
