Any ideas?

... This is probably not your typical type of letter, but I hope you will be interested nonetheless.

I got to your website because I have been looking for information on Enzo Ferrari. Nothing to do with cars but rather with family history. You appear to know quite alot about him and I'm hoping you might be able to help me.

I am a family historian and have recently learned that one of my family members was killed in a car accident in Belgium. His name was Mario Lenassi and he was with Enzo Ferrari in the days when he was a car racer, and before he went on to build them. I believe Enzo Ferrari was with Mario in Belgium when he died.

No one in the family knows much about Mario except for who his ancestors were. We don't know when he died, exactly where in Belgium he died, or where he is buried. I am hoping that you might have heard of Mario, or you might be able to advise me who I might contact about him.

If you can provide any help in this matter, please contact me. And thanks !

LINDA LENASSI

Dennis,
Nothing so far. I spent a couple of hours yesterday browsing through Ferrari's material (Mes joies terribles -because I got the French version many years ago and never bothered to buy another copy and Piloti, che gente, the extremelly well illustrated volume that Conti Editore sold in 1985) together with records of the twenties, and even the Canestrini book -that reminded me I have to post sometime the translation about Tripoli- and the only thing I found was that my eyes were becoming increasingly red...but no sign of any Mario Lenassi around.
I find the Linda Lenassi message very curious, although a bit vague, and due to the fact that Mario Lenassi might not have been a driver puts the whole thing a bit out of our reach.
But there is some more Italian material around that could be browsed...let's not despair... :-)

Un abrazo
Felix

I agree, he might not even have been a driver but a mechanic or private entrant. I'll do more searching this weekend.
