[Gerard Gamand]

After been separated from his historic partner Charles Deutch (DB cars) at the end of 1961, René Bonnet produced his own racing cars.

In 1964, Renault gave the green light for a Gordini version of the 4 cylinders 1000 cc to be fitted in F2 cars. Alpine and René Bonnet take the challenge and it was the very first René Bonnet single seater.

The thing began at Pau with Gérard Laureau and the very young Jean-Pierre Beltoise.

Sorry for the mistake, the Beltoise car #30 was take at Reims not at Pau (he had the #20 number for the race)

I remember those very well. MATRA purchased the cars when they purchased the company, but I am not sure of what happened to them. Did they survive?
