Thanks Brian and Richard. I've deleted my earlier post, and apologise for raising the matter.

I've just recently noticed this thread is still active after many years.  I'm glad to see that there's sufficient interest in Richie's life to keep it going.  Well done!

I've noticed that many great pictures have been replaced with imageshack thumbnails.  This is somewhat distressing as those pictures were really treasures.  Can someone explain?

Thanks.

Jack

The Imageshack 'this pic is no longer available' thing?

Imageshack are now charging is the main reason, they delete pics after a certain time if they're not paid. And they tend to lose pics anyway, it seems.

Thanks, Ray.  I spent a couple of hours last night going back through the whole thread and those imageshack thumbnails are really jarring.  I didn't realize there was a charge for posting them, but then, I don't even know how to post a picture!

Because I'm too mean to pay, and didn't find it particularly easy to use anyway, I've switched from Imageshack to Photobucket, which so far seems like a good move, but in light of this discussion, how long are Photobucket hosted pics likely to remain visible on TNF, anyone have any idea? Maybe it's only a matter of time before Photobucket start charging as well, but as a very occasional user, I hope not.

I've been using Photobucket here from day one at the suggestion of my computer "guru" friend who helped set up my system. All of my photos are still up since 2008. No charge, depending on the number of photos posted. I'm not sure what that figure is; I've had to go to a premium because of the number of shots I have posted, but that charge is so nominal, I can't tell you what it is, and I have a pretty fixed budget. With the premium, I'm only to one-percent of my capacity with nearly 1,400 posted pictures at Autosport. I highly recommend Photobucket. No, I have no interest in them - I'm sure some here will now avoid Photobucket at all costs due to it being me that did recommend it. :smoking:

Jack the Lad: As Ray Bell has stated, Imageshack charges to be a member. If you don't pay those charges they take all your previously posted photos down, I have now switched to photobucket.

Thank you, Jerry...

It does make it much more enjoyable to re-open.

Hi, Jerry. I just rediscovered this thread while searching for something else. Is there any chance of getting a few more pictures reposted?

Thank you!

Jack.
