Thanks for your help. I have met Mrs Clark three times for my book. She doesn't know well the detail of MB's career in racing.
Best regards !

Best regards.

Did not catch the title of this thread - 1963-1967 - I thought about the first year Mike Beuttler had some race results.
What did he do these years in the middle of th 60's?
Studying the law at a university together with Mr B.C. Ecclestone and some future stock-brokers?
And spend his spare time together with Keith Richard, Keith Moon, Ronnie Wood, Robert Plant and all the others?
Looking forward to your book, Philippe!

In Alan Clarke's wonderful book "Backfire", he mentions in the caption to the photo of Clarke's Talbot Lago GP car: "...Jane's brother, Mike Beuttler, a Formula 1 and Formula 3 driver, campaigned it for a time until it had to be sold...."
As an aside, is this the car that Peter Giddings owns/owned?

This is absolutely correct. I found it very odd that in three volumes of diaries, Clark (a noted petrolhead) doesn't mention Mike. (Then again it's entirely possible that that material, not pertaining to politics, gambling, his relationship with his father, or his horizontal jogging activities) was edited out. There's barely a mention of Mike in Back Fire either. Maybe he and Mike just didn't get on.
I know Mike did at least one historic race in Alan's Talbot.

Many thanks for these precisions. I'm agree with you : the title of the thread would be Mike Beuttler : his activities between 1962 and 1967.
Best regards.

No book on libre racing, though the races are mentioned in various circuit histories
Uphill Racers by Chris Mason is a fairly detailed history of hillcimbing (but if you're looking for Beuttler references he's not listed in the index)
