The simulation is excellent, especially with a good ff wheel.

I think it would be much easier with a controller that has some feedback.

Yes Force feedback makes all the difference.
I am down to 2:16 but I have seen replays of sub 2:11s laps.

I don't have the laptop here, but I just installed it on the desktop PC, and in the same conditions, managed a 2:13.7, here is the replay:

Yeah it's not hard, you just throw the car into the corner, and then just hit the throttle without touching the steering, the car drifts and straightens up itself at the exit (see at turn 2). With DSC on and/or TC disabled or Level 2 it's impossible to do with keyboard.
Oh, and I selected the non standard suspension (while being in the garage, the option is in the left), you gain 2-3 seconds with it.

I am now playing with the Bilstien suspension and the only driver aid I am using is ABS. Quickest lap is now down to the low 2:17s without cutting the last chicane.

Jesus, I tried it a bit onlineOriginally posted by roadie
There are some horrendous drivers on most of the public servers. At the first corner, it is well worth completely avoiding the apex to reduce chances of being spun off by extremely over optimistic drivers who use your car as a means of slowing down.

Is those people interested in motorsport? Even those who is quite fast is totally un-interested in racing. I was fighting a guy for the lead for three laps - when I finally manage to pass him he t-bones me in the first corner hairpin

As soon as you end up mid-bottom of the field all your effort goes to try to avoid people trying to run you off track. Amazing.
Was quite fun though, specially the sprint track IMO. The GP track is to long for those cars.

I tried the Race 07 demo yesterday and I am curious why you think it was bad? Admittedly, the Race 07 brought my comp to it's knees (I have no proper GFX card on my laptop), but after reducing details and resolution, asking the game to aim for 45-55fps (impossible task, but I fugured it would then skip more gfx than I could switch off) it was perfectly playable and IMO better, or just as good as the M3 game. I did of course drive the BMW in Race 07 as well. Brands Hatch is such a love track... I found the default FOV appalling though, it was like sitting in the back seat.Originally posted by Rob76
It's by the same guys who made GTR/GTR2/GTL. They left Simbin and started Blimey Games - this is their first release I think - not too bad I guess (especially for free), but my 2 year old PC struggles at times. Way better than Race/Race07 that the remains of Simbin have put together though.

The game is fairly demanding hardware wise but makes up with it in terms of viewing distance. However, frame rates do drop into the teens along the home straight for me with all details at maximum.

Lower the detail then. You'll react faster with higher FPS.
