Watching the Japanese Grand Prix this morning, I couldn't help thinking back to Senna's fantastic performances in these two very wet races, as a relatively in-experienced 'rookie'. Hamilton's drive was outstanding and like Estoril, experienced former winners and a world champion were falling off the road in appalling conditions leaving the rookie to show them how it should be done.

Grabbing pole at the last minute, in a McLaren with a driver wearing a yellow helmet and then driving a flawless race (despite the attack from another car)....it somehow seems very familiar!

Today is 21th April 2015. And exactly 30 years ago -- 21th April 1985 -- Ayrton won the Portuguese GP held at Estoril in nasty weather. It was birth of a Legend in short!
