Sometime during the Mesozoic era, I read an article about the Z102 Pegaso in one of my dad's magazines (either True ["The Man's Magazine"] or Esquire). It was the first sportscar I really knew anything about, and I thought it was absolutely gorgeous.

Not long after, I saw one in the flesh at the Boston Auto Show: thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

Around that same time, I read Ken Purdy's Kings of The Road and became aware there was more to pur sang machinery than just Kurtis midgets.
