Excellent work Scott.
Being biased, I am particularly impressed with John Ampt's successive fourth places with HF601 and Ford TC in the 1965 Australian Gold Star against 2.5litre opposition, not to mention his successes in Europe.

scotts216,
I assume that you are including Duncan Rabagliati in your research about the marque Alexis.
Roger Lund.

Anything Alexis is always good, nice work Scott. As the driver of the Mk2 its nice to see a period picture that I haven't seen before.

I have raced a Nota Formula Junior in Historic racing in Australia since 1973. The car looks a bit like a cross between a Mk1 and Mk2 Alexis, I suppose you could say.
In about 1983, after inserting a really good race engine with(as it turned out)an inadequately baffled sump, I ran bearings in private practice at Winton, so drove it delicately back to the pits. The noise of the bearings attracted the attention of the elderly gentleman sitting in the shade of his racing car next to mine. He said"Is that a BMC engine?" When I said it was, he said that "We had a car just like that with a BMC engine. Just couldnt keep bearings in it at Monaco"... which is how I got to meet Bill Harris, and hear some of his Alexis stories

Thanks for the replies everyone. Great little cars with an interesting historical background. I have LOTS of information to post in the coming months and years, so check back every once in a while.
I have indeed been in touch with Duncan. He is the current day Patriarch of the Alexis marque.
Thanks again, and if you know any Alexis owners, urge them to contact me and register their cars on the site. Happy Holidays to all.
Regards,Scott
