Hello,

I am wondering if someone could help with some gaps in 1950 italian sportscar results. As this is purely for my own interest and peace of mind, don't quit your day job for it...

March 26, Coppa Inter-Europa, Monza

I have seen both Bracco and Stagnoli credited as winner, both on Ferrari ?

One source has the March 26, Monza Cornacchia car as a 166 Inter Berlinetta, 009S.

Was Guido Scagliarini's Abarth coupe a 204A or a 205A? The 204As had tube chassis and the 205As had platform chassis, and it appears that there were 3 205A coupes built. I have seen no evidence that any 204A coupes were ever built.

To dretceterini, according to "Abarh the man, the machines", it was a "204A sports tourer", later known as a 204A Monza because his first appearance was the Coppa Intereuropa at Monza. The photo shows a stunning Vignale berlinetta still unpainted.

If I understand correctley, road version of this car were 205A, with a different chassis but a similar body.

To me sports tourer would generally connote a spider.

Curami's book "La Sport E I Suoi Artigiani 1937-1965" says the 1950 Mille Miglia coupe (race number 533) with the aerodynamic nose and tail added was a Tipo 204, but other sources says it was 205-101 (Three Tipo 205 coupes having been built). It also calls an identical looking coupe, but without the aerodynamic nose and tail added a "Tipo Monza 1100 sport".
