On 23 May 1954 was held at Spa-Francorchamps a race for "production" sportscars. Some interesting cars showed up, some maybe more "sports" than "production" : Typ C Jag, A6GCS Maserati... It was a multiple class affair, with the result that today almost everyone claim to have win that one.

Maybe someone could clear this up, and even produce detailled race results ?

Thanks

I have the following race times,
Race 1
1.Frere 1'10'37
2. Franssen 1'14'25
3 Pilette 1'14'55

Race 2
1. Frere 1'10'46
2 Martignoli 1'11'13
3 Stasse 1'11'28
NB 2nd & 3rd are reversed compared to Hugo's information. I would NOT guarantee the accuracy of mine.

Race 3
1. Davids 1'06'11.9
2. Musy 1'06'16.5
3. Swaters 1'08'21.0
Dietens' Jaguar is probably C type XKC 0019

Thank you very much. That brings to more questions, if I may :

- I did not know Swaters ran a Cooper-Bristol (apart for May Silverstone 1953 with a F2 car), any idea whose car was it ?

- Is it sure Glockler still has one of his specials in 1954 ? Maybe it was a Porsche 356 1300 ? By the way, if anyone is interested, Glockler's 1952 lovely special is for sale at auction.

It isn't a Formula 2.
It is the fourth car in the photo
Davis (Jaguar C), Musy (Masesati A6 GCS), Gendebien (Jaguar XK120), Swaters (Cooper Bristol), Jaguar C, Jaguar XK120

The Swaters-driven Cooper-Bristol was, apparently, the Bob Chase car, CB-4-52, that Mike Hawthorn drove in Formula 2 in 1952, and for 1953, completely rebuilt as a sports car and driven extensively by Alan Brown in 1953 and 1954. Apparently the car, as a sports car, was in France in recent years? Anybody know where it is now? It was discussed here:

I agree, 312 P very nice picture points to Alan Brown's car. I don't know where the car is today, but I think it raced in the first Monaco historic GP.

It was sold in a French auction a few years ago (possibly together with a single seater that claimed the same origin).
It is now in Belgium (or somewhere pretty close).
It was on display at the Brussels Retro Festival a couple of years ago with some other Swaters cars.

Yes, Belgium is probably still right
It was sold at a Poulain le Fur auction in June 2003, and was being advertised for sale in Belgium the following year

From 312P's excellent picture, the Cooper Bristol looks like it has registration HPN 665, confirming its identity as the Ex-Hawthorn converted car. Also it can be seen that there is a second C type which is presumably Dietens. I hope this isn't a silly question but I wonder why the cars are going the "wrong way" ie uphill.

Davis it's not, it is Hans Davids (NL) in the C-type (XKC006). He is often listed as the overall winner of the Grand Prix de Spa 1954.
