Raydot or Raydyot Mirrors?
#1

For a book I'm working on, I need to know whether the brand name of the rear-view mirror should be Raydot or Raydyot.
Or, due to a trademark situation, are both spellings correct? If so, for what periods? (My work involves 1961 through 1967.)
Googling the name reveals only that both spellings are used, with no explanation.
Thanks,
Frank

The book is made up of individual histories and photographs of the 30 cars of the Shelby American Collection: Cobras, GT40s, etc.
Look as if the consensus is "Raydyot."
Thanks, all.

Thanks for the photo; that's a very early Cobra! (The Collection contains CSX2002 and CSX2109.)
Next question: how is Raydyot pronounced?
"Ray-dee-ott" or "Radio"?
Thanks,

Yes, CSX2026 (Bob Johnson) is there. Dan's CSX2488 has just come out of restoration by Bill Murray, and his CSX2385 (ex-Mack Yates, restored to resemble 2488) is there, too. CSX2027 is not there. You can check the Collection's site at www.shelbyamericancollection.com.
The Willment Coupe research is complete, and the book will be out in July, entitled Shelby Cars in Detail. David Bull is the publisher, and it will be a knockout!
