So I guess this is an indicator of how NBC is going to be this year... First F1 broadcast and there's a basketball game instead of it airing. GG?

I reckon it's UT football.
Judging from the 2012 season, there's likely to be Ivy League and/or Mountain West Conference games airing on NBCSN that afternoon.
edit: originally mentioned Harvard-Yale, but that's on the following weekend.

Thanks for the complete schedule. I am going to print that.
One improvement over last year. Fox put four races on the main network, but time shifted them to Noon in the Central Time Zone, I don't know when they ran elsewhere. This created a problem for me if there was an early afternoon IndyCar race. At least they are putting the first broadcast on live.

Glad to see you here, Conosur - it looks like keeping up with the puzzle of scheduling is going to be mess. Thanks to JP for the whole thing.
Having said all of that - I just checked to see if I even have "NBC Sports Network", which I do (never paid any attention to it), but...
.. my tv guide says "F1 Countdown" is coming on at 3:00 a.m. (2 hours from now)......?

Thanks, man... It looks as though even NBC programmers can't figure out how to compensate for DST, as has been pointed out in an earlier post. Çést la vie.Glad to see you here, Conosur - it looks like keeping up with the puzzle of scheduling is going to be mess. Thanks to JP for the whole thing.
This schedule should be the last one with any sort of time discrepancies. I suppose I could go back and edit it, but...

One may have to actually check the local listings to be sure. DVRs aren't exactly the be-all/end-all of recording devices. Never trust a machine with semi-brains.
Nothing beats informed human input.

What's your TV set up?
IE: cable/sat and who is your provider?
$10 per month ain't bad for both F1& IndyCar.

Same boat here, but only one phone call complaining about the rates got me another $15 off a month (my contract is up) with no new contract.... so Im saving $5 more and have the higher tier package (Americas Top 250).

Fortunately there are other channels in the sport package that I'm actually interested in so the consequences of my stupidity are limited

Record it, it was a nice little countdown thingy.
My DVR apparently is non-functional. Set it to record - nothing. It's only half-full.
It would seem I'm doomed to spend an hour in line at Comcast to debate the issue with a "technician". Ahrghhh..

Time is back in synch now and it recorded properly on the second attempt. Looks a bit better than Speed, though I still think 'Obbs sounds like Mr Punch having a bad trip. He's also challenging Brundle on the no-doubt-about-it-ometer.

I don't think they have started it yet. I also think they are just replicating their TV channel so it wouldn't be on now anyway.

SpeedTV never showed FP1 live on television, and I recall somewhere saying that NBCSN was doing the same. But looking at my Comcast menu, I see that before the live FP2, there is a showing of F1 practice, which I assume is FP1.

For a first broadcast it could be a lot worse. It doesn't bother me that much that it isnt live all of the time... and that there are no streams or anything... i just wish they had an nbc timing app or something on their site... at least for their tape delays... because their broadcast doesnt run in realtime, screwing up other timings and laps; but i digress......
Apart from random FOM pre season glitches...and not having it in HD, im quite impressed... looking forward to see how much they can run with the resources they have.
